As many know, the David Hartmann Scholarship is awarded to a deserving Knox College student who demonstrates significant financial need to meet their educational expenses. The scholarship is awarded by Knox College to a deserving student with a physical disability, and secondarily to an active Sigma Nu.

With this year’s scholarship award, this brings the total scholarship amount awarded over the past eleven years to $70,000, indicating the scholarship is having an impact on deserving students.

Knox has been able to increase the annual scholarship for eight consecutive years because of the generous and continuous support from Sigma Nu alumni, family, and friends. The endowed fund now stands at $233,000.

To date, fifty-eight people have contributed to the scholarship fund, including five new contributors this past year.  This also makes the David Hartmann / Sigma Nu Endowed Scholarship one of the most widely supported endowed scholarships at Knox College.
